AN UNFORGETTABLE LANDSCAPE AT LOUIS VUITTON READY-TO-WEAR FALL 2026

Nicholas Ghesquière

Nicolas Ghesquière transported us on a journey back to his roots. In Louis Vuitton’s presentation for the Fall/Winter 2026–27 Women’s Fashion Week, the house proposes a voyage not only through the endless landscapes of the Jura mountains, but also toward the future. With daring styling that oscillates between simple silhouettes and oversized volumes, the collection feels playful, magical, and relatable—like a fragment of childhood set within a rural atmosphere.

Straight lines, often associated with futurism, open the runway through coats with maxi shoulders. Nicolas proposes ensembles that verge on maximalism, dividing dresses into graphic sections of different textiles without losing the movement that feminizes them. In this presentation, culture shapes fashion, something made evident through the artistic work of Strelyaev-Nazarko and the shearling details integrated into boots bearing the LV emblem. It is a story that unfolds across the runway and never detaches from its roots.

For the season, Louis Vuitton places its bets on capris, giving them greater movement. It also explores overalls which, in everyday life, are often perceived as informal garments but, as they pass through Paris, acquire an elegant bias cut that reinterprets their daily function. Another of the collection’s great successes were the maxi jackets with fur cuts and the use of this material as a finishing element on trousers and capes. If one could translate a chic and futuristic countryside escape into images, this would be the perfect mood.

Decorative details move away from sobriety and flatness through alternations of sequins and oversized crystal appliqués. Here every element is visible and important, just like the accessories—bags, hats, and headpieces—that embody the word versatility. Proportions become key and the oversized trend continues, presenting a new silhouette for the Louis Vuitton woman of the future.

Nomads with history, women with strength who embrace rigid lines and make them move with grace and sophistication. More than a simple rural escape, this collection functions as a conversation between memory and what lies ahead—a reminder that the future can be imagined without abandoning one’s roots.
